The Landing in Van Buren has been destroyed by fire

Van Buren, MO – The Landing in Van Buren suffered a devastating fire early on September 15. The Van Buren Fire Department arrived on the scene shortly before 1 a.m. and the cause of the fire remains under investigation. The Van Buren Fire Department along with 5 other fire departments, the Carter County Sheriff, and Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop G, assisted in clearing the building of people. Two of the buildings were completely destroyed.

A local TikTok creator, Cody Ogden who goes by Countryraisins and makes videos with his kids on the app, posted a video of the fire to his channel here.

Tom and Della Bedell are the owners of The Landing and have worked on the Current River for more than 40 years. The current location of The Landing had been in operation since 1992. The Landing was home to the Rosecliff Lodge, the Moonshadow Lodge, the Blue Heron Restaurant, the River Store, and the River Centre and sat on the banks of the Current River.
