Byron Prenger

Byron Gregory Prenger, age 74, of Cherokee Village, AR. Passed away Sunday November 3, 2019 in Jonesboro, AR. Greg was born March 14, 1945 in Wichita, KS.  He was the son of the late Ambrose (Gus) Prenger and the late Charlotte Gregory Prenger. Greg was a Veteran of the Army National Guard. He served Sharp County and Cherokee Village in several ways. Greg was a dedicated member of the Sharp County Quorum Court for over twenty years and was the longest serving JP in the state of Arkansas. He also served for 36 years as a Commissioner for Cherokee Village Suburban Improvement District. Greg was the owner and operator of the Cherokee Village Service Center.

Greg is survived by his wife Lee Ann Prenger; daughters Tracy and husband David Webb, Lori Prenger and fiancé Chris Long, and Stephani and husband Chad Holifield, a sister Jeri Thompson. He has three grandchildren; Lance and Aaron Sweet and Tyler Holifield.  Stepsons Greg and wife Katy Goleosh and Grant Goleosh, three step grandchildren Katie, Jackson and Nicholas Goleosh.

Visitation will be Saturday November 9, 2019 starting at 11:00am until 1:00pm and Funeral service at 1:00pm Saturday November 9, 2019 at 1:00pm in Wortham Oak Hill Chapel.

Arrangements are under the direction of  Wortham Funeral Home and Cremation of Highland, AR.
