Ribbon cutting held for West Plains Christmas tree

WEST PLAINS, Mo. — A ribbon cutting for the new West Plains Christmas tree on the Howell County Courthouse Lawn was held at 5 pm Monday, December 2.

The 20-foot tree features LED lights and music and was installed by West Plains utility crews last week. The tree was funded by the city and the West Plains Downtown Revitalization group.

The tree will be the focal point of the “Downtown in December Christmas Festival” which follows the city chamber of commerce Christmas parade on Saturday, December 14 at 4 pm. That event will run from 5:30 pm-7:30 pm and will feature music, vendors, crafts, a visit from Santa, and the chance to win prizes from a “snowball” drop by the city’s electric department.
