WEST PLAINS, Mo. — Howell County saw over a half of a million dollars come in from the first full year of the voter-approved internet use tax.
Presiding Commissioner Mark Collins told Ozark Radio News that the tax on purchases made from vendors not headquartered in the state of Missouri brought in more money than initially expected in 2019:

Collins says the use tax brought in roughly $75,000 more than expected. He added that extra money comes in at the right time, as the county was roughly flat revenue-wise this year:
The use tax was initially estimated to bring in $375,000 to the county coffers.
