District Quarterfinals Recap

Saturday afternoon at Farmington, the Class 3 District continued, with the Lady Licking Lady Wildcats taking on Saxony Lutheran in quarterfinal action.  Although it was a close scoring game, Licking saw one of their key players, Karlee Holland go down with an injury, and would trail 20-17 at the end of 2nd quarter.

In the second half of the game, the Lady Wildcats’ Karlee Holland would return to the court, and led the way with an impressive 14 points in the second half, and 19 points overall. Free throw shooting also played a major factor in the game, as Licking would make 8 out of 10 free throws in the 4th quarter and go on to win by a score of 52-46.

In other quarterfinal action on the boys side the Dora Falcons faced off against Delta Bobcats in the the Class 1 District Tournament in Van Buren.  The heavily favored Falcons put together a high scoring first half, taking a 57-39 lead at the half over the Bobcats.

The second half would see the Falcons continue to score almost at will, leading 90-65 at the end of the 3rd quarter, and won the game easily by a score of 106-70. Isaac Haney for the Falcons led all scorers with 40 points.
