City of West Plains urges businesses to focus on limiting occupancy

To help minimize the transmission of COVID-19 in the community, the City of West Plains would like to encourage businesses to begin limiting their occupancy load to no more than 50 percent capacity.

As part of the Stay at Home Order and accompanying Ordinance passed on March 27, the West Plains Mayor was given the authority to limit the occupancy load in any business at any time.

The Mayor, along with West Plains City Council and City administration, is strongly encouraging businesses to comply with this recommendation for the health and safety of West Plains citizens. It is also encouraged for businesses to follow social distancing (6-foot rule) and encourage all customers to follow as well.

The Stay at Home Order will remain in effect until 11:59 pm April 15. The City will continue to reevaluate the situation in the coming days and weeks. For questions on limiting occupancy please contact City Hall, 256-7176.
