Stella Mae Woolsey

Stella was united in marriage to Herman Woolsey on November 27, 1948, in Houston, Missouri, and to this union, two children were born; Kathy Sue and Karen Marie.

Stella is preceded in death by her loving husband, Herman Woolsey; parents, Shorty and Nellie Dale; father and mother-in-law, Herbert and Phyllis (Tune) Woolsey Burks; sister, Doris (Dale) House; brother, John Dale; brothers-in-law, Troy Woolsey, Milford Woolsey, and Dick Mays; son-in-law, Bill Cochran; sisters-in-law, Dorotha Mays, and Bernita Woolsey.

Survivors include daughter, Kathy Cochran of Rolla, MO, and her two sons, Jeremy Reese (Faith) of Ozark, MO and Matthew Reese (Mary Sue) of Lisle, IL; daughter, Karen Brotherton (Richard) of Willow Springs, MO, and her children James Lowe (Libby ) and Shelly Gingerich (Ray); grandchildren, Gavin, Allison, Eleanor, and Daphne Reese, Colton, Connar, and Corbin Lowe, and Melaina and Bo Wilson; two brothers, Donald Dale and Bob Dale (Susan); brothers-in-law, Don House, Wilford Woolsey and Wilbur Burks (Janella); sisters-in-law, Verna and Donna Woolsey; along with a host of nephews, nieces, and step-grandchildren.

Stella and Herman were members of the First Presbyterian Church in Mountain View.  Stella became a Christian in November, 1948, along with Herman.  They were both baptized in December 1948.

Stella was a wonderful wife and mother.  She had a passion for gardening, cooking, and sewing; she delighted her family, friends, and church family with her cooking.  She was an accomplished seamstress and was one of the first in the area to machine quilt free handed.  She shipped her quilts all over the United States and Hawaii. She also received recognition in two Southern Quilting Magazines for her accomplishments. 

Private graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery in Mountain View, Missouri with Pastor Diane Cooke officiating under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View.  Public services will be announced at a later date.  Arrangements were made under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View, Missouri.  Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Mountain View.
