Debra Elizabeth (Barton) Reese was born in Raton, New Mexico on February 15, 1957 to Floyd “Tee” and Betty Barton. She departed this life to be with the Lord on May 26, 2020 in Aurora, Colorado at the young age of 63 years and 3 months old. On November 2, 2011 she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Roy Reese.
Debbie enjoyed working alongside her husband and best friend, Roy, at Matrix. However, her joy came from taking scenic motorcycle rides with Roy on their Harley Davidson. She got to travel to places all across the United States with him that she never thought she’d see, including Alaska. She loved anything and everything, including fishing, as long as she was by his side. Debbie loved her family with all of her heart and spending time with them made her heart happy. Debbie never met a stranger because from the moment she met someone she immediately treated and loved them as if they were her own family. If she wasn’t on their motorcycle or striking up conversations with those surrounding her, you could find her making quilts. She had a love and passion for quilting and put her heart and soul into each marvelous quilt that she sewed by hand.
Debbie was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Buck & Ellen (Kelly) Patterson; her paternal grandparents George & Effie (Younger) Barton; her father Floyd “Tee” Barton; her mother and father-in-law Willie & Virgia Reese; her brothers-in-law Bob Carkhuff, Gordon Hatfield and Danny Clark and her nieces Mya Dill & Bobbie Jo Hall. She wasn’t afraid to close her eyes here on this earth because she knew that they all would be waiting to welcome her with open arms at Heaven’s gates.
Debbie is survived by her husband and love of her life, Roy Reese of Mountain View, MO; her children, Donald Cleveland Clark and Darren Eugene Clark of Van Buren, MO, Becca and Matt VerStrat of New Baltimore, MI and Tyler and Leah Reese of Mountain View, MO; her mother, Betty Barton of Birch Tree, MO; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Smotherman (Duane) of Birch Tree, MO, Elaine Clark of Van Buren, MO, Carol Carkhuff (Cecil) of Mountain View, MO, Karen Woolsey (Bill) of Birch Tree, MO, Sheila Barton (Allen) of Birch Tree, MO, Lisa Miller (Bill) of West Plains, MO, Bobby Reese (Pauline) of Mountain View, MO, Elsie Hatfield of Minnesota and Faye Chowning (Leo) of Mountain View, MO; nine grandchildren, Traven, Dillon, Emma, Jayde, Caven, Cole and Jack Clark, Aiden VerStrat and Kendall Reese; two great-grandchildren, Aribella and Aubrey Clark; and a hand full of nieces, nephews and cousins who already miss her immensely.
Visitation will be held at Yarber Mortuary in Mountain View, MO on Sunday, May 31, 2020 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM and funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday June 1, 2020 at the Church of God of Prophecy in Birch Tree, MO officiated by Brother Gary Larson.
