The city of Chicago was brighter the day Wanda Jean (Fike) Cullison was born as the first child to Donald and Shirley (Wine) Fike. She embarked on a missionary journey with her parents, starting in Ecuador. Puerto Rico became the backdrop for most of her childhood, being there 15 years.
She graduated from Robinson High School in San Juan, PR in 1974. Moving Stateside, she attended Oral Roberts University, then switched to Purdue, where she graduated in 1978 with a BS in dietetics. She found love there in Bradley Cullison, and they married June 10, 1978.
Over the next years they moved to several different states, were blessed with 3 children, and settled in Goshen, IN. Later moving to Winona Lake, IN, Wanda worked at KCH for 20+ years using her knowledge and passion for health to help those at the hospital and in the surrounding community.
In 2015, Brad and Wanda moved to South Sudan as missionaries, which she described as one of the best and hardest years of her life, learning to fully lean on God. When they returned, they settled in the rolling hills of Missouri and raised goats on their farm.
Wanda took great joy in music, flowers, and learning how to help people live in greater health. Her deepest desire was for her friends and family to know and love Jesus. Even in brief interactions, people were impacted by her authentic love and kindness. She genuinely cared for others, pouring her time, prayers and care into the hearts of those in difficult health or life experiences. She was a wife, mother, daughter, sister, cousin, mentor, friend, and daughter of the King.
Wanda passed away in her home surrounded by her family after a short battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Fike. Surviving are her husband, Bradley Cullison (MO), children- Jared Cullison, Kalin (Healy) Cullison (MO), Ryan and Rachel (Cullison) Srogi (IN), Justin and Sharissa (Cullison) Polston (IN), grandchildren- Jack, Violet, Stella Cullison; Mason, Kaitlyn, Annaliese Srogi; Brecken, and Garrett Polston. Also surviving are her father, Donald and Susan Fike (VA), and siblings- Douglas and Charlene Fike (DC), and Eric and Wendy (Fike) Good (TX).
Wanda will be interred at Shiloh Cemetery in Southern Indiana near the family farm on June 6 and a memorial will be planned for a later date in Warsaw, IN and Willow Springs, MO.
