NBA: Concern Rises With Florida Virus Spike

The surging number of coronavirus cases in Florida is raising concerns for the potential return of the NBA season next month (July) in Orlando.

Florida added 4,049 new cases Saturday, which broke the previous single-day record of 3,822 set Friday.

The NBA players’ union held a virtual town hall with players last week and addressed concerns about the surge and players brought up the fact that Walt Disney World staffers who will not reside in the NBA campus will not be subject to any coronavirus testing.

The league is also concerned but is confident that the bubble concept will keep the coronavirus away from the players.
