The Howell County Health Department has announced that three additional cases of COVID-19 in Howell County have been confirmed, bringing the year to date cumulative total of cases in the to 52.
The number of known active cases in the county currently stands at 6.
Case number 50 is a retiree residing in the Pomona area. The source of their infection is thought to be travel related. The patient is isolating at home and following public health guidelines. Contact tracing indicates that no exposure to the general public has occurred with this case.
Case number 51 resides in the West Plains area. They are isolating at home and following public health guidance. The contact tracing investigation of this case indicates that the infection was community spread and that there has been no exposure to the general public. The patient’s employer has been notified as have direct contacts to the case.
The 52nd county resident to have tested positive for COVID-19 resides in the West Plains area. They too are isolating at home under public health guidance. The source of their infection is a known contact. The individual’s employer and identified close contacts to the case have been notified by the health department. Exposures to the general public have not been indicated.
