James Eugene “Wimp” Lee, a lifelong resident of Willow Springs, passed away early Saturday, July 11, 2020 while at Willow Care Nursing Home. He was born July 8, 1947 near Willow Springs to James Isaac and Nancy Emma (Trowbridge) Lee and was 73 years old.
Wimp grew up and attended Pine Creek School through the eighth grade. He graduated from Willow Springs High School with the Class of 1965. He married Elizabeth “Liz” Haines in August 1967. He had various occupations during his lifetime. He took pride in being self-employed as a logger; he also ran a backhoe and dump truck business. He drove a truck for AMPI in Mountain View for a couple years as well. In recent years, he drove a school bus until his retirement. When he was not working, he enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, camping, and spending time at the lake. In his earlier years, he loved to race stock cars. He also participated in racing motocross at local tracks. He will be dearly missed by his family, his friends, and all who knew him.
Wimp is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Liz.
He is survived by his daughter, Kim Frazier of Willow Springs; his son, Keith Lee and his wife, Rebecca also of Willow Springs; grandchildren: Kayla Jones of Ozark, MO; Faith Garrett of Canyon, TX; Keith Frazier, Kendra Frazier, and Chloe Frazier, all of Clever, MO; Isaac Lee and his wife, Marri; Kaitlin Lee and Emma Lee, all of Willow Springs. He is further survived by a great grandson, Everett Jones of Ozark.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in his memory to the Pleasant Grove Cemetery and may be left at the funeral home.
A graveside memorial service for Mr. Lee will be held at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Saturday, July 25, 2020 at 10:00 AM. Arrangements are under the direction of Willow Funeral Home, LLC. Online condolences may be left at www.willowspringsfuneralhome.com
