The Howell County Health Department reports that an additional six cases of COVID-19 have been identified in the county. This brings the year to date total number of cases to two hundred and two. Currently, there are twenty-seven known active cases in the county. The health department has also received notification on the third COVID-19 death in the county, a female in her late fifties.
Of the twenty-seven cases, one is currently hospitalized with COVID-19. Five of the new cases reside in the West Plains area and one resides in the Koshkonong area. Each case is currently isolating under public health guidance. The investigation into these cases indicates that five have been linked back to known cases and one is deemed to be the result of community spread, or the source of infection is unknown. There has been no exposures to the public to report with these cases.
