The Howell County Health Department reports an additional 40 cases of COVID-19 have been identified in the county. This brings the year to date total number of cases to 870. The county also reports it’s ninth death. The weekend’s numbers report is expected later today.
Currently, there are 180 known active cases in Howell County. Of these 180, 15 are currently hospitalized with COVID-19.
Of the new cases; 30 reside in West Plains, two live in Mountain View, five live in Willow Springs, two live in Pomona and one lives in Pottersville. Positive cases and significant exposures to cases have been notified and have been placed on isolation or quarantine.
There are 22 cases that are considered community spread, where the source of the infection is unknown. There are 18 cases that have been linked to known cases.
