On 12/31/2020, Officers responded to Ozarks Healthcare for a report of a female who had been assaulted by her boyfriend who was later identified to be 45 year old Darren L. Break of West Plains. During the altercation, the victim told officers a firearm was discharged.

Officers attempted multiple times to make contact with Break at the residence and, due to the nature of the assault and a firearm allegedly being involved, the West Plains/Howell County S.W.A.T. Team was activated. Entry was made to the residence and it was discovered Break was not present.
As of 11:16 AM in 01/01/2021, the whereabouts of Break are unknown. Break is still considered armed and dangerous. We ask community members not to make contact or attempt to apprehend Break.
