Representative David Paul Evans was sworn in this past week on January 6 as the Missouri General Assembly began its 101st Session in Jefferson City. The ceremony was presided over by State Secretary Jay Ashcroft. Evans states that he is excited to begin his 2nd two-year term and to tackle several challenging issues facing Missouri including empowering early childhood education, addressing ongoing needs of foster children and foster parents, strengthening election laws, protecting individual freedoms and rights, and addressing a difficult state budget.

Evans is pictured with Missouri Secretary Jay Ashcroft. Evans notes that Jay also has deep ties to Southern Missouri. Early in his career, Jay worked at DRS in West Plains alongside his friend Mike Topliff. Jay married Katie (Moore) Ashcroft from West Plains. Katie is the daughter of Dr. Mike and Mary Moore. The Ashcroft’s have 4 children and now live in Jefferson City.
