WEST PLAINS, MO – The Ozarks Small Business Incubator (OzSBI) will host two QuickBooks Workshops in partnership with the Missouri Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Missouri State University. These workshops will be held on March 31 from 1 to 5 p.m. and April 23 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
QuickBooks Workshops:
March 31, 2021 1 – 5 p.m. QuickBooks Online
QuickBooks Online provides hands-on training on how to utilize the software to document and track the accounting activity of your business, no need to feel like you have to be an accountant. Topics include: understanding QuickBooks Online features, setting up your company, managing your company account and settings, navigating QuickBooks Online, recording sales, expenses, and purchases, understanding the report dashboard and how to generate reports, activating QuickBooks payments and benefiting from Intuit approved app add-ons. For this workshop, participants can use personal PC laptops or OzSBI laptops will be available.
About the Presenter: Sandra Smart
Sandra Smart is a technology & commercialization specialist for the Missouri SBDC at Missouri State University-Springfield. She has been a consultant at the SBDC for over 5 years and has over 21 years of business experience as a small business owner working with small businesses and large corporations. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree with an emphasis in Production/Operations Management from Southeast Missouri State University and an MBA from Missouri State University. She also holds certifications as an EDFP (Economic Development Finance Professional), GrowthWheel Business Advisor and Transformational Coach.
April 23, 2021, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Desktop QuickBooks for Your Business
This powerful accounting system for small businesses will enable you to track the progress of your company and at the same time allow you to focus on your business, not on being an accountant. QuickBooks is a tool you can use to automate the tasks you need to perform as a business owner to document and track the accounting activity of your existing business, or to set up a new business. This course provides an opportunity for hands-on practice. It is designed for PC users only. Topics include: setting up QuickBooks, working with lists and accounts, entering sales information, receiving payments and making deposits, entering and paying bills, analyzing financial data, setting up inventory, tracking and paying sales tax, doing payroll with QuickBooks, estimating and progress invoicing, tracking time and customizing forms and writing QuickBooks letters. For this workshop, OzSBI laptops will be provided.
About the Presenter: Chrystal Irons
Chrystal Irons is the director of the Missouri Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Missouri State University in Springfield. Prior to being named to this position in May of 2016, she served as the county program director and business development specialist for the University of Missouri Extension, as well as the Missouri SBDC. Certified as a coach by the Blue Mesa Group, Chrystal is designated as an Economic Development Finance Professional, and has served as a board examiner for the Excellence in Missouri Foundation for the Missouri Quality Award. Chrystal has been a recipient of the SBDC-celebrated Missouri State Star Award, as well as the Associated Industries of Missouri Extension Industry Award for the professional and educational support for the economic viability of Missouri businesses.
Chrystal began providing one-on-one assistance and educational training to business owners and entrepreneurs in southwest Missouri in 2010. Her expertise includes QuickBooks coaching, strategic business planning, financial analysis, management and projection, business workshop facilitation and personal experience as a small business owner and entrepreneur of the past 18 years. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a MBA from Drury University in Springfield, MO.
The cost to attend the QuickBooks Online workshop is $129 for general admission and $99 for OzSBI members. Pricing for the Desktop QuickBooks for Your Business workshop is $179 for general admission and $149 for OzSBI members. Pre-registration is required for both workshops and seating is limited to 15 participants.
