KENNETH RAY ADAMS, 51 years old of the Gassville area, was arrested Sunday evening, April 18th, on drug and weapons charges after being pulled over in the Midway area by a Sheriff’s Deputy.
Deputy Bryce Hinson was on patrol and observed a white Chevrolet Malibu on State Highway 126 with a lighting or equipment violation at approximately 11:21 PM. Deputy Hinson conducted a stop on Baxter CR 903 and made contact with the driver, identified as KENNETH RAY ADAMS.
When speaking with ADAMS, the deputy asked if there were any illegal items or substances in the vehicle and requested consent and permission to search. ADAMS replied that there is a loaded firearm in the back seat and also gave consent. The deputy then performed a pat down search of ADAMS for safety purposes and found a zip log bag that contained approximately 28.65 grams of suspected methamphetamine, as well as some pill bottles containing an additional 2.4 grams of methamphetamine and hydrocodone. $825.00 in cash was also found on ADAMS. In addition, a loaded .40 caliber semi-automatic handgun was found in the back seat of the vehicle.
KENNETH RAY ADAMS was subsequently arrested and taken to the Baxter County Detention Center where he was booked on charges of:
Possession of Controlled Substance with Purpose of Delivery (methamphetamine) – Felony
Possession of Controlled Substance (simple possession) – Felony
Weapons Possession During Controlled Substance Offenses – Felony
KENNETH ADAMS was released from custody after posting $15,000 bond. He will appear before the Circuit Court to answer on May 13th.
