The matchup

• Mizzou meets an old Big 12 foe in Kansas State for the third-straight season after not facing the Wildcats since the 2012 move to the SEC.

• The Tigers are 169-102-2 all-time against the Wildcats in a series that dates back to 1907.

• In the two meetings as non-conference foes, Mizzou earned a 17-2 win in Columbia in 2019 while falling 5-1 in Corpus Christi, Texas, last season.

• Tuesday is Mizzou’s first trip to Manhattan, Kan., since 2011. The Tigers are 85-54 in the Little Apple.

HOLT PROVIDING A SPARK

• After suffering an injury in the fall, junior outfielder Josh Holt, Jr., missed the first 31 games of the season.

• Holt returned to the lineup at Florida, making a pinch-hitting appearance on Friday night before earning a start in game one of Saturday’s doubleheader.

• Holt went 1-for-3 with an RBI and run scored in his start.

• He’s hit in each of his past three games, including producing a RBI-double against Georgia on Saturday.

• Holt’s speed has already caused problems for opponents, as he swiped third and scored on an errant throw against the Bulldogs as well.

Weekend Rewind

• Mizzou opened the Georgia series with one of its most complete games of the year, earning a 6-4 win in the process.

• Redshirt-sophomore starter Seth Halvorsen was stellar in working a career-long 7.0 innings while allowing just one run on one hit. He struck out six and tossed a career-high 114 pitches in earning the win.

Cameron Swanger and Tre Morris each added two-run home runs to the winning effort.

• Saturday saw the Tigers drop a thriller in extra-innings. Mizzou tied the back-and-forth affair with two outs in the ninth but UGA scored twice in the 10th to even the series.

• Another close game on Sunday turned in the fifth, as a tough call stranded the tying runs in scoring position. UGA went on to earn a 9-4 win.
