The Seattle Seahawks cut former Pro Bowl defensive end Aldon Smith because of an off-field issue.
Smith has faced alcohol and legal issues for much of his NFL career including an arrest in April on a second-degree battery charge in Louisiana. He’s been suspended several times including for the entire 2016 and 2017 seasons.

Smith has been staying in a sober living home in Seattle while with the team. Sources say he violated the team’s trust which is why they cut him.
