The MSU-West Plains Grizzly basketball team has signed another guard for the upcoming season. Isaiah Lewis, a 6-1-point guard, comes to West Plains from Division 1 Chicago State University. According to Grizzly coach Jared Phay, Lewis had originally signed with juco power South Plains but asked for his release after several guards signed with the school. The timing of Lewis signing was fortunate after point guard Martaveon Jones decided not to come back and sit out the year. Last season, Lewis averaged 6 points per game for the Cougars after averaging 10 points the previous season. The Grizzlies open their season November 2 at home against the defending national champion Coffeyville.
