A Clash of Mirrors causes Two-Vehicle crash near Pomona

West Plains, MO – A clash of mirrors has caused a two-vehicle crash near Pomona, north of West Plains. The accident occurred on Highway P roughly one mile west of Pomona at 7:06 p.m. on Monday, August 30. As a westbound 2010 Chevy Aveo driven by a 16-year old male and an eastbound 2017 Nissan Altima driven by Daniel Kharitonov, 21 of Willow Springs, passed each other too closely, striking mirrors. The Chevy ran off the right side of the road and overturned. 

The juvenile driver of the Chevy and his passenger, Amanda Madden, 41 of West Plains, were not wearing safety devices and suffered minor injuries. The pair were transported by South Howell Ambulance to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains for treatment. The vehicle was totalled. Kharitonov did not report any injuries and only minor damage to his vehicle.
