Softball Back in Action on Friday

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Softball will resume fall ball action on Friday with games against Crowder College and Columbia College. The games will begin at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. CT, respectively, at Mizzou Softball Stadium.

The Tigers are returning nearly every starter from the 2021 Super Regional squad. Kimberly Wert, Hatti Moore, and Cayla Kessinger each rank inside the top ten of Mizzou’s all-time home runs list while Brooke Wilmes sits just outside the top ten in a tie for 11th. Additionally, Wilmes is one of only 14 Tigers to ever reach the 200-hit plateau.

Jordan Weber and Laurin Krings headline a pitching rotation that will bring a lot of experience into 2022. Weber led the Tigers in innings pitched and went 12-7 on the year with a 2.82 ERA while holding batters to a .180 average. Krings led the Tigers in strikeouts with 122 on the year as a freshman while only walking 37 over 97 innings of work.

The Tigers have one remaining fall ball date on the schedule on Friday, October 15th against Missouri Southern and Central Methodist. Those games will also begin at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. CT, respectively.
