MLB Cy Young winners announced

(New York) Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Robbie Ray took home the American League Cy Young Award.

Ray had a 13-7 record with a 2.84 ERA and led the majors with 248 strikeouts.

Gerrit Cole of the Yankees finished second in the balloting. Former Cardinals righthander Lance Lynn, now pitching for the White Sox, came in third.

 

Milwaukee Brewers ace Corbin Burnes won the National League Cy Young Award.

Burnes finished 11-5 with an MLB-low 2.43 ERA with 234 strikeouts in 167 innings. He becomes the first Milwaukee Brewers pitchers to win the Cy Young Award in the NL.

Burnes edged out Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Zack Wheeler by just 10 votes. Wheeler came in second followed by Max Scherzer of the Dodgers.
