Cabool, Mo. – A teen from Cabool was killed and two others injured in a one-vehicle crash Saturday night. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on Highway 181, two miles south of Cabool at 10:35 p.m.
A 2012 Ford Festiva driven by a 14-year-old juvenile female traveled off the right side of the roadway, overturning and striking a fence. A 13-year-old female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene by Texas County Chief Deputy Rowdy Douglas at 10:51 p.m. The driver was seriously injured and airlifted to Cox South in Springfield. Another passenger, a 13-year-old male suffered minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Texas County Memorial Hospital. No person involved in the crash had been wearing a safety device.
This makes the 34th fatality for MSHP Troop G in 2021, compared to 37 in 2020.
