West Plains man seriously injured, arrested in DWI crash Monday

West Plains, Mo. – A West Plains man was seriously injured after driving while intoxicated early Monday morning. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at 1:30 a.m. on November 29, one-half mile west of West Plains near County Roads 6460 and 6540.

A 2011 Chevy Malibu driven by Steven Woodruff, 36 of West Plains, traveled off the roadway and struck a tree. It was determined that Woodruff was intoxicated and was charged with Driving While Intoxicated Resulting in a Motor Vehicle Crash and Careless and Imprudent Driving. Woodruff suffered serious injuries in the crash and was taken by air ambulance to Cox South in Springfield for treatment.
