CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – University of Missouri women’s basketball (11-2) went on the road and defeated Illinois (5-7, 0-1 Big Ten) by a score of 84-65 in the Braggin’ Rights contest.
Five Tigers finished in double figures with Aijha Blackwell (18), Lauren Hansen (14), Hayley Frank (14), LaDazhia Williams (13) and Haley Troup (10). Blackwell picked up her ninth double double of the season with 18 points and 15 rebounds.
TURNING POINT
Mizzou got off to a very slow start in the contest, allowing the Illini to take a 13-1 lead early in the first quarter. The Tigers then went on a 22-3 run to take control of the game thanks to nine points from Lauren Hansen and six from Aijha Blackwell.
NOTES
Aijha Blackwell picked up her ninth double double of the season with 18 points and 15 rebounds.
Five Tigers finished in double figures for the first time since February 7, 2021 vs. Auburn.
Six of Aijha Blackwell’s nine double doubles have come with 15 or more rebounds.
Hayley Frank closed non-conference play by shooting 63 percent from the floor, 50 percent from three and going 8-for-8 from the free throw line over the last three games.
She has also averaged six rebounds and two assists per game over the final three contests.
LaDazhia Williams has scored in double figures in back-to-back contests.
Head Coach Robin Pingeton picked up her 200th win at Mizzou.
Haley Troup played in her 100th game as a Tiger.

Mizzou will return home to face top-ranked South Carolina on Thursday, December 30th in Mizzou Arena. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. on SEC Network.
