Community Clinic Closed February 24, 25 to Move
Poplar Bluff, MO – On Monday, February 28, 2022, the new Cape Girardeau VA Health Care Center (HCC) will open at its 711 South Mount Auburn Road location. The existing clinic at 3051 William will close on February 24 and 25 to move equipment and supplies to the new location.
“We are excited and happy to see this moment arrive,” said John J. Pershing VA Medical Center Interim Director, Chandra Miller. “It’s been a long journey and we know the additional space and services will help us provide better care for our Veterans.”
When fully operational, the clinic will offer primary care, mental health services, specialty (gastroenterology, dermatology, hematology, oncology, optometry, orthopedics, audiology), cardiopulmonary service, general outpatient surgery, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, and more.
“We are still awaiting a few final equipment and staffing pieces,” explained the HCC director, Libby Johnson, “but we wanted to meet our February commitment to Veterans, so we are moving forward.” Johnson explained that primary care, mental health, and some specialty services will be immediately available.
“This has been a team project all the way through,” said Miller. “We appreciate the support of our Veterans and communities as we have steadfastly pursued this goal. I know it will be very beneficial for all those we serve.”
