Friends of the Garnett Library to host special Women’s History Month presentation March 15

WEST PLAINS, Mo. – Officials with the Friends of the Garnett Library will host their final special event this year “Celebrating Moments in Time” at 4 p.m. March 15 at the Garnett Library, 304 W. Trish Knight St., in West Plains.

This third event will feature a presentation for Women’s History Month by Carol Silvey, emeritus professor of history at Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP) and current president of the MSU Board of Governors.

She will discuss the women’s movement in history, then focus on three local examples of women who epitomize the movement.

Light refreshments will be served. Admission is free and all are welcome to attend, organizers said. Masks are recommended and will be available at the door, organizers said.
