OXFORD, Miss. – No. 21/19 University of Missouri softball (19-9, 0-2 SEC) travels to Ole Miss (21-7, 0-3 SEC) for a three-game set. The series will open at 8 p.m. CT on Friday night on ESPNU with Mark Neely and Danielle Lawrie on the call.
SERIES HISTORY
The Tigers lead the all-time series 14-5 over the Rebels and 6-3 in Oxford. Mizzou has won five in a row over Ole Miss.
MIZZOU CLASSIC RECAP
The Tigers went 1-3 over the weekend at the Mizzou Classic. Mizzou led in every game, falling in extra innings to No. 14/12 Northwestern and Stanford on day one and Ball State on Sunday. Laurin Krings shut out Stanford to finish the weekend with a 6-0 victory.
RECORD CHASING
Kimberly Wert is one home run away from breaking the Mizzou all-time record. She is currently tied for first with Jen Bruck with 47 during her time at Mizzou. Wert homered five times in her freshman season at Hofstra before transferring to Missouri.
FRESHMAN PHENOM
Kara Daly has impressed early in the season for the Tigers. She has crushed a team-leading nine homers on the year which is tied for second in the nation among freshmen. Daly set a program record by homering in five-straight games.
