Sunday Crash Injures Summersville Man, Leads to Intoxication-Related Arrest

Summersville, MO. – A 2012 GMC Acadia was driving northbound on Highway 17 just outside of Summersville, when it was involved in a crash. The driver was Layton Roberts, 25 of Summersville.

The crash occurred as Roberts traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck an embankment, and went airborne before eventually coming to rest.

Roberts was not wearing his safety device and suffered moderate injuries as part of the accident. He was transported by ambulance to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains for his injuries.

Roberts was charged and released for medical treatment following the investigation of the crash. Charges include: Driving While Intoxicated Resulting In a Motor Vehicle Crash, Felony Endangering the Welfare of a Child (x2), Driving While Intoxicated With Someone Under the Age of 17 in the Vehicle, Careless and Imprudent Driving, No Seatbelt, and No Insurance.
