Despite National Mental Health Awareness month drawing to a close, mental health is still at the forefront of many peoples minds.
The Missouri Department of Public Safety is taking a step to try to help first responders deal with the stress and traumas they can and do experience as a part of their jobs.
The free program is open to all our state’s first responders: law enforcement, fire service, EMS and dispatch personnel.
The free training is targeted at helping people deal with stress or trauma related to their first responder duties.
DPS’s Mike O’Connell says everyone will benefit from the program.
You can learn more about the program on the Department of Public Safety’s website, dps.mo.gov.
