Summertime in the Ozarks means that many people from the area and beyond come to Missouri and Arkansas campgrounds to experience the many beautiful lakes, riverways, and springs in the area.
However, with the extreme drought conditions in the area, officials, including the National Park service, urges visitors to be careful with their campfires, and to be more cautious with their stays in nature.
Much of Howell and Oregon Counties of Missouri, and Baxter and Fulton Counties of Arkansas are in D3 extreme drought conditions, which means that it is only a step away from being D4, the highest ranking of severity in a drought.
