The St. Louis Cardinals had just four hits in a 5-1 loss to the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park. Tommy Edman hit a solo home run to give the Cardinals a brief lead in the third inning, but Dakota Hudson surrendered four runs in the bottom half of the frame and was charged with his seventh loss. St. Louis remains six games ahead of the Milwaukee Brewers in the NL Central with a 75-and-55 record. Jose Quintana starts for the Cardinals against the Reds tonight.
