Jose Quintana tossed five innings of one-run ball as the Cardinals defeated the Nationals 4-1 at Busch Stadium. Quintana earned his fifth win on the mound after allowing just five hits and striking out five. Nolan Gorman and Brendan Donovan each homered for St. Louis, which improved to 80-and-56. Ryan Helsley locked down his 14th save of the season for the Cardinals, who lead the NL Central by eight-and-a-half games. Jordan Montgomery starts for St. Louis against Washington tonight.
