Yadi and Waino tie battery mark

Adam Wainwright and Yadier Molina made history as the Cardinals lost to the Nationals 11-6 at Busch Stadium. The pair started their 324th game together as battery-mates, tying the record set by former Tigers players Mickey Lolich and Bill Freehan nearly a half-century ago. Molina hit two home runs in the losing effort, while Adam Wainwright got a no-decision after giving up four runs in five innings. Andre Pallante was charged with his fifth loss in relief as the Cardinals fell to 81-and-57. They’re eight games ahead of the Brewers in the NL Central, and they send Miles Mikolas to the mound in Pittsburgh tonight
