Julia “Helen” Crawford, age 90, passed away on September 19, 2022, at Mountain View Healthcare, Mountain View, Missouri. She was born on November 17, 1931, in the Philippines to Ann Obando.
Helen was married to Jim Crawford on July 27, 1976. They were married for 20 years until Jim’s death in 1996.
Helen is preceded in death by her mother, Ann Obando; her grandparents, who raised her; her loving husband, Jim; a step-daughter, Billie Jean (Crawford) Smith; and two special friends of her later years, Alice Voyles and Veda Mattison.
She is survived by her nieces, Vivian Adams and family, and Adah M. Obando; her step-children, Ronald Crawford, Mary (Crawford) O’Bryant, James Crawford, Christine (Crawford) Scheer, Ted Crawford, and Kathrina and Brad Glass; and her special friends, Renee and David Bunch, and Janet and Dewayne Woolsey and families.
Helen loved to travel and had visited many countries through the years. She was an avid gardener, and her flower beds were impressive. She loved to cook, bake, and have friends over to share a meal with. She always had cake to send home with those that visited. Helen was a very special person and was loved by many.
She was in Mountain View Healthcare and was on extended care for two years. Gwen Anderson and the girls took good care of her.
