Navy Veteran Receives Award from NSDAR

West Plains, MO. – On Saturday, October 1, 2022, Lia Hallock Griffin of Eminence, Missouri was awarded a Ten-Year Dedicated Service Certificate by Jan Tappana, Chapter Regent on behalf of the Ozark Spring, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR).

Ms. Griffin is a 24-year United States Navy Veteran, where she served as an Aircraft Controller. She learned some years ago that she had at least six Mayflower descendants and a rich history that no one in her family was researching or recording the genealogy for future generations. According to Lia, her mother-in-law taught her how to do professional research, and with a college background in Accounting and some writing skills, she began locating and documenting the rich history of her descendants that led her to an interest in joining the Daughters of the American Revolution.
