West Plains, MO. – Many EMS personnel were at the West Plains Elementary School on Friday, responding to an emergency situation. It is reported that a member of staff was injured when a floor scrubber malfunctioned.
The school released a message stating:
At approximately noon, a call was placed to 9-1-1 to attend to a situation where the batteries in some maintenance equipment exploded in the cafeteria. As a result, an ambulance and the fire department arrived at the school. There was no fire, and no students were in the cafeteria at that time. The fire department cleared the area, tested the air for safety, and school resumed as normal.
