Big congratulations to West Plains Senior Heston Miller for breaking the Zizzer Football Career Receptions record! Which was previously held by Jacob Womack (2011-2013) with 95 catches. Heston currently sits at 102 career catches and holds the Career Receiving Yards record which he broke during the 2021 season.

The West Plains Lady Zizzer basketball team heads into the 2022-23 season as the reigning Class 5 champions and do so having lost just one senior from the Class of 22. Class 5 Player of the Year, Ashton Judd now a Mizzou Lady Tiger. But returning is a solid group that consist of Allyssa Joyner, Zoey Williams, Olivia Lawson, Kayla Dixon, Mary Claire Gohn, Madi Hughston, Hannah Judd, Emily Dawson, and Drew Harris. West Plains will participate in a jamboree on Nov. 15 at Doniphan before opening the regular season at Willow Springs on Nov. 21.
The Current River Challenge 2022 will get underway Friday Nov. 25th and again on Saturday Nov. 26th at Van Buren. Games that will be broadcast as part of Ozark Radio Sports will be Friday 10:30am Summersville vs Greenville, Noon Woodland vs Eminence, 6pm Van Buran Girls vs Oran Girls and then the night cap game 730 Van Buren vs Gideon. Saturday’s broadcast will be 4pm Winona vs Doniphan, 530 East Carter vs Alton and Van Buren vs Willow Springs at 7pm.
