David Tucker was born on July 27, 1964, at St. Francis Hospital in Mountain View, Missouri, to William Doris Tucker and Bonnie Fay (Lampkins) Yardley. He passed away on November 10, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, at the age of 58.
David married Martha Murphy on April 23, 1988, and to this union, three children were born, Melinda, Michelle, and Jana.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Doris and Bonnie; step-father, Elza Yardley; step-father, Gerald “Butch” Yardley; and sister, Annette Davon Tucker.
David is survived by his daughters, Melinda Hutton and husband, Joe of Birch Tree, Michelle Pruett of Mountain View, and Jana Hopkins and husband, Eric of Elk Creek; ex-wife, Martha Murphy of Birch Tree; eight grandchildren, Lydia, Maddison, Hunter, Leah, Morgan, Natalie, Owen, and Piper; sister Debbie Wright and husband, John of Winona; brother, Bill and wife, Justeen of Glen Burnie, MD; nephew, Aaron Wright of West Plains; and niece, Lillian Wright of Mountain View.
David was a graduate of Winona High School and lived most of his life in the Winona area. He had a variety of jobs over the years, mostly working at area sawmills. He also worked for a short time as a sheriff’s deputy for Shannon County. He briefly served in the US Navy but was discharged for medical reasons soon after enlistment. David loved being outdoors and enjoyed things like hunting, fishing, horseback riding, and gardening. Indoors, he could often be found reading a good western and petting the dogs.
A memorial service will be held at the Church of God of Prophecy in Winona at a date to be determined. Inurnment will be at Horner Cemetery. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Winona. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
