Houston, MO. – The local drug store Walgreens at 100 N Grand Avenue in Houston, will continue to operate, after pressure from local representatives and individuals spurred the company to maintain this store.
The original news of the closure came earlier this month, around the 13th, as corporate representatives told local employees that not only this store, but several others would close as well. This announcement came as a surprise to the employees, as well as many others within the county that depend on this store and location to provide healthcare within a good portion of Texas County.
Word that the store’s closing has been retracted came on Friday, January 27th, after many customers, and even State Representative Bennie Cook and US Representative Jason Smith joined in to communicate the importance of this location to the corporation.
