West Plains, MO. – On January 19, 2023, Douglas County Sheriff Chris Degase arrested Shawna Ross, age 49 of Ava, for 2 counts of 1st Degree Statutory Rape, 2 counts of Statutory Sodomy and 2 counts of Trafficking for the purpose of Sexual Exploitation of a Child. All charges are unclassified Felonies.
A warrant was issued for Ross, who is being held in the Douglas County Jail. The warrant had the accused held on no bond until the first court hearing. On January 26, bond of $100,000 cash was ordered with GPS monitoring. A bond reduction hearing was scheduled for Feb. 9, 2023.

The case was investigated by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Southwest Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force, Homeland Security and the Ava PD.
