Liberty Loses in the Last Second to Thayer

The Liberty Eagles took on the Thayer Bobcats on this Valentine’s Day evening. Liberty came out not wanting a repeat of the Cabool Holiday Tournament. Liberty led 15-6 at the first time out with 2:26 left in the first quarter. After the timeout the Bobcats regrouped some and closed the gap a little 17-12 by the end of the first quarter. After a few questionable calls, the Bobcats end up on top 32-30 at the half. In the third quarter, Coach Lee decided to pull back and call a timeout as Thayer started to break away 48-42 with 3 left in the third quarter. The Bobcats continued to expand their lead through the third quarter, leading 55-46 going into the fourth quarter.  Liberty started closing the gap early in the beginning of the fourth and Bobcats call the timeout to stall the Eagles, 62-57 with 4:24 left. Bobcats win at the buzzer 72-70. Gary Lee with more:
