Ava Man Faces Additional Child Pornography Charges

Ava, MO. – Harold Blair, the man whose investigation led to his arrest and catalyzed the arrest of two others on sexual exploitation of minors, has received additional charges that include the victimization of another child.

Harold Lloyd Blair is a 66-year-old Ava resident whose old home was demolished late last year. Demolition crews found a filing cabinet inside the home that contained images of child pornography, the revelation of which spurred on the initial investigation.

Blair was charged in a three-count superseding indictment returned by a federal grand jury in Springfield. Yesterday’s indictment replaces the original returned on December 6th, and includes two additional counts.

The superseding indictment maintains the old charge, and includes a second count involving a second child victim allegedly used by Blair to produce child pornography.

This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephanie L. Wan. It was investigated by the Douglas County, Mo., Sheriff’s Department, Homeland Security Investigations, the Southwest Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force, and the West Plains, Mo., Police Department, with assistance from the Douglas County, Mo., Prosecuting Attorney.
