The West Plains School District Board of Education has appointed Dr. Ashley Cooley as the district activities director for the 2023 – 2024 school year.
Dr. Cooley has many years of experience in the classroom and as a coach. She has served as a South Fork Elementary 4th grade teacher, a West Plains Middle School 5th grade teacher, a West Plains Middle School Student Council sponsor, an assistant coach for the Lady Zizzer softball team, an assistant coach for the Lady Zizzer soccer team, and a team coordinator for the Missouri State University – West Plains softball program. Dr. Cooley is a 2004 West Plains High School graduate.
“We are happy to welcome Coach Cooley to lead the district activities program. She understands the importance of a student-centered, competitive program that will challenge athletes to excel and to give their best on the field, on the court, and in the classroom. In our programs, we’re not just growing successful athletes and teams; we are growing tomorrow’s leaders.” said Dr. Wesley Davis.
Dr. Cooley earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Missouri State University, a Master of Education from William Woods University, and a Doctorate in Education from Lindenwood University.
Dr. Cooley will begin duties as the activities director on July 1, 2023.
