Salem, MO Man Arrested After Saturday Accident

Salem, MO. – One individual from Salem, MO has been seriously injured and has ended up with criminal charges after he was involved in an accident on Saturday, March 4th of 2023.

The injured driver was Ethan Newman, a 24-year-old male who was driving a 2022 Kawasaki Teryx side-by-side on Country Road 2240. Newman was travelling Eastbound when he lost control of his vehicle. Newman left the right side of the roadway and then returned before striking the side of a Ford F150. The side-by-side then overturned and ejected Newman, inflicting him with serious injuries.

Newman was flown to Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur for treatment, and was found to be intoxicated at the time of the crash. He has been charged with Driving While Intoxicated, and Failure to Drive on the Right Half of the Roadway, Resulting in a Crash.

This accident was investigated by Trooper J.R. Summers of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Troop I.
