Bobby “Joe” Coday, son of Amon Coday and Hazel (Tarbutton) Coday, was born April 2, 1938, in Mansfield, Missouri, and departed this life March 22, 2023, at Glenwood Healthcare in Seymour, Missouri, at the age of 84 years, 11 months, and 20 days.
He was preceded in death by his parents, longtime companion, Earline Moore, and brother, Larry Coday.
Joe is survived by his daughter, Janet Brooke and husband, Brad, of Mansfield; 3 grandsons, Adam (Tessa) Brooke of Mansfield, Jason (Janisha) Brooke of Seymour, Nick (Sydni) Brooke of Telford, England; 5 great-grandchildren, Karsyn (Tanner), Addie, Delia, Elwyn, and Braylee, 1 great-great-grandchild, Everleigh; brother, Bill Coday, of Springfield; sisters, Wilda Jones of Warner Robins, Georgia, Cheryl Cook of Republic, Missouri, and Kathy Dotson of Claremore, Oklahoma; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Joe was born in Mansfield and lived his entire life there. He graduated from Mansfield High School in the Class of 1956. He worked at Tobin-Hamilton Shoe Factory and drove a bus for Continental Trailways for many years before retiring.
In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening and taking care of his lawn.
Joe was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and a caring neighbor and friend. We have many memories of our times together that we will always cherish.
