Marshfield, MO. – A crash on I-44, 3 miles West of Marshfield, MO., has ended in fatal injuries for both drivers involved.
Trooper J.W. Philpot of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Troop D, was the investigator of this Tuesday afternoon accident.
Christopher Maples, a 56-year-old Strafford, MO. resident, was driving a Dodge Journey in the Westbound lane of I-44. The report states that at roughly 3:38pm, Maples lost control of the vehicle, struck the median and went airborne, rolling over the median cables and striking a Ford Edge, driven by Melanie McDaris, 47 of Hartville.
The report goes on to state that both drivers were pronounced deceased shortly after the arrival of the Webster County assistant coroner Robert Jernigan. Maples had not been wearing a safety device.
