West Plains, MO. – Two people received severe injuries in a motorcycle crash near Thayer on Tuesday morning. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the crash occurred on Highway 142 at County Road 249, five miles east of Thayer at 9:58 a.m.
A Chevy Trailblazer driven by Kristy Brown, age 58, pulled into the path of an oncoming Honda VT 1300 driven by Ronald Wrenfrow, age 67, causing the crash. Wrenfrow and his passenger, Kimberly Stevens, age 42, were seriously injured in the crash. Wrenfrow was taken by AirEvac helicopter and Stevens was taken by Oregon County Ambulance to Cox Medical Center-South in Springfield for treatment.
Stevens was the only individual not reported to be wearing a safety device.
As nice weather makes its way into the Ozarks, News Team 7 asks drivers to be mindful of motorcycles on the roadway. There have been multiple motorcycle drivers injured in recent weeks due to drivers not seeing, or not being cautious, of motorcycles on the roadways.
